Pre+Post Adoption Support

The adoption journey does not end on the day a child is welcomed home. Children impacted by adoption or foster care have often experienced early attachment injuries related to loss, abuse, trauma, and/or neglect.

There Is Hope.

Whether you are in the adoption process or have welcomed home a child through adoption, you are not alone on the journey. There is hope in the form of practical teaching and resources to better equip parents and caregivers.

Hope for the Journey Conference

Show Hope’s fourth annual Hope for the Journey Conference will be available for viewing April 5, 2024, with on-demand viewing period through June 30, 2024! With viewing options available for Churches/Organizations as well as Individuals/Households, the conference encourages and resources parents, caregivers, and families meeting the needs of children entrusted to them through adoption and/or foster care. And twofold, the conference also serves churches and organizations in their ministries and support of these children and families.

Additional Support

There are points in the journey when we need others to come alongside us. That may be a professional, such as a counselor or therapist, who has received specialized training in how to best support families impacted by adoption and/or foster care. It could also be parents who have been on a similar road and now offer classes and community for other families. Follow the link below to find resources in your community or to learn more about upcoming training opportunities.

Further Recommendations

Show Hope is committed to caring holistically for children impacted by adoption or foster care and the families who love and care for them. There are a number of different readings, DVD series, and other resources to help bring hope and healing.

Medical Care Grants

Many children who have been orphaned live with medical needs, with limited access to adequate healthcare. And once home, rising medical costs and access to treatment can be overwhelming for families.

Since the fall of 2020, Show Hope has offered Medical Care grants to financially assist families with medical expenses for their children welcomed home through adoption.

Today, the average Show Hope Medical Care grant is $6,000 and can be applied to varying procedures, treatments, equipment, and rehabilitative therapies.
